- Account Information: If you sign in via Google or email, we collect your email address and unique user ID.
- Anonymous Users: You may use the app as a guest without registering. Some features are limited for guest accounts.
- User Preferences: Font and theme preferences, ad personalization settings.
- Story Progress & Bookmarks: For signed-in users, we store your current position and bookmarks to sync across devices.
- Analytics Data: We collect anonymous usage data (e.g., story choices, time spent reading) via Firebase Analytics.
- Advertising Data: Ad impressions, clicks, and personalization preferences are handled via Google AdMob. Users in the EEA are shown a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
Use of Information
- To sync your story progress and settings across devices (for signed-in users)
- To improve the quality and experience of the app via anonymous analytics
- To serve ads — either personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent

Consent Management
Users in the EU/EEA will be prompted to choose whether to allow personalized ads. You can update this choice in-app anytime.
Data Retention
Your account data (preferences, bookmarks, progress) is stored in Google Firestore and retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account by contacting us at branchingrealms+data@gmail.com.
Children’s Privacy
This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we do, we will notify users by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
